Deuteronomy 4. Context is everything. Everyone loves a bit of Jeremiah 29:12 – it’s one of the most quoted – but did you know it’s out of Deuteronomy 4?? It has context!!!!! Ignorance is no excuse!

Stop quoting scriptures like they are Confucius sayings.
Stop pulling from the ‘promise box’ when you have no idea of the context of those words.
Stop adding to scriptures what you ‘think’ or ‘feel’, following clever affirmation statements that have no anchor.
Always pay attention to the word and DO it.
Never forget what God has said and done – keep your soul DILIGENTLY.
Never have any form of image or likeness where you ‘lift your eyes up’ (Deut 4:19)
– this is exactly what caused Israel to lose their promise land.
– will it cause some to lose the promises of God?
Your crystals, your yoga, your visiting of tourist temples, your little Jesus on the cross statues, your books on energy and the universe….. #challenge
Deuteronomy is a gold mine of facts!
I dare you to track, throughout the whole Bible, Baal, idolatry, Molloch, Satan….. I dare you!!! It will be very confronting. We tend to look the other way as if that would never be us and we’re all ‘Jesus, Jesus’ songs. But God!!!!!!!
(That’s for you to do or not do, but if you want to be equipped, its part of the training).
When words like ‘you will soon utterly perish’ and ‘scatter you among the nations’, are used you want to know why.
This is no safe haven of local church.
This is a battle field where only those that cleave to God succeed.
Know therefore this day, and CONSIDER it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in Heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else. 4:39
Ask now…hath there been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath heard like it? Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire….????
We either believe God or we don’t.
But those that know their God will DO, Daniel states.
Today only chapter 4. Too much to think about.
-The awesome time when all Israel heard God at Mt Horeb.
-The identification of what would later lead Israel into captivity.
-The concept and principles of how to hold onto God.
Moses was brilliant!
Context always matters. See God as He is!
