Deuteronomy 13-19 Jesus! In Deut 18! He has been on his way since before the foundations of the earth to save! Who can grasp this spiritual stuff? Reading from Deuteronomy 13-19 today.
We’ve been told to be rational, scientific, logical, sceptical… is good and healthy. Says who? I can tell you in my research that the people that led the Western world down this path were not good.
God who made the heavens. Believe him.
Today I’m reading Deuteronomy 13-19.
Moses is still recounting things to Israel before he dies. He is covering the law, and giving them advice about relating to God.
The blessing everyone likes to think of is interwoven with obedience, tithing and more offerings, of absolute refusal to tolerate idolatry and to be all in with God.
Things may have shifted in the sense of the new covenant in Christ but the relating to God….hmmm, core principles at play.
How many people practice cultural things that idolatry? Remember we were all gentiles, out of idolatrous nations. These practices are inside like DNA.
I’ve had conversations with Christians that tell me it’s ok to visit these sites, to sit with ancestral practices to….whatever the case is. You know, so they don’t offend their parents… it’s ok, God doesn’t mind. They say… 
It’s going to be a rude awakening for some I think. The Holy Spirit cannot anoint those are tied up in it. It’s just a fact.
But JESUS .. Moses tells them…this Prophet is coming – he is one of you – your brethren – like me – human being – Him you better listen to!
Moses, all those years ago, prophesying the Messiah!
Spiritual things are staggering!
Remember …. Moses is one of the ones who appears on the Mt of Transfiguration with Jesus. He is also one of the two witnesses in Revelation. This guy is something else!! He is of the spirit. He carry’s that anointing.
Never let anyone tell you it’s not about people it’s only about God. That’s a lie. God uses people. People are critical.
But I am noticing how much time is given to warning them and dealing with idolatry. This is a problem as old as Satan.
Considering it’s what got Israel taken into captivity they didn’t pay attention.
Do we pay attention today? Or do we think we have superiority above that stuff?
Hmmmm I can’t tell you how impressed with Moses I am, and yet, compared to Jesus, who is he? Jesus, the human being, in every way like us. Some say he was divine, if that were so the cross would have no effect. But then, there are some, that still don’t believe in the effect of the cross – they think it will happen ‘in Heaven’.
Lies.
Jesus said it is finished!
What was finished? 
All the stuff exploding in my head as I read Deut, I’m enjoying refreshing my mind on these things.
